Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know that our next fantasy tournament will be on August 1st. The points will be the same at 2250 and the entry fee $15 again. It will most likely be at the City Hall again depending on the turnout. I will be taking a preliminary list of people who are planning on attending. Please let me know when able!

Also, we will be doing the new comp scoring rules found on our forum. This is the WPS comp. Please pm me lists ahead of time to save me a considerable amount of time and trouble! If there are any questions or confusion about the new comp system feel free to let me know. We are going to have a minimum of +2500 Composition points for an acceptable list. Thanks a lot guys and hope to hear from you all soon!

Tentative List of people attending:

1. Steve Boatwright
2. Jeff Clarke
3. Aussie
4. Jason Vavra
5. Mark Goldsberry
6. Bruce Griffin
7. Adam Coats
8. Adam Young
9. Robert Elmer
10. Ryan Marquardt
11. Ben
12. Wesley Edwards
13. Derek
14. Joe Powell
15. Travis
16. Dan Ruud
17. Dan Wasmer
18. Michael Fields
19. Will Martinez

`Steve

@Abaddon: We're just having 'Ard Boyz in July.

I will also be working on an excel workbok for the comp scoring system, to try to help make scoring a list quickly easier.

Also, we should have some extra prize support for the future events from GW.

Now if this isn't a reason to sit down and get everything assembled I don't know what is.

For someone that's a bit unfamiliar with your tournaments (and a lot of the threads on the forums just say "just like the last one" ;) ) anything I should expect? I think I saw something about painting being a seperate prize and not factoring into main score and I saw the WPS Army Comp document, just wondering if there's anything else I need to worry about.

There is the death rays in the obstacle course to get to the event.

For our Fantasy tournaments, we have the following standard for armies:
  1. 2250 Pts (new, used to be 2000 points)
  2. No special characters.

Composition is something new that we are trying out, and we'll see how it pans out. If it goes very well, then it will likely get added to our standard Fantasy tournament rules. From everything that I have been hearing, I would expect this to happen. Steve and several people in the store, have been experimenting with different minimum composition scores.

For our tournaments we tend to give out prizes for the following:
Best General (best overall)
Best Tactician (best victory points from scenarios)
Best Painted (make it pretty, though we don't enforce painting minimums)
Sportsmanship (always the best prize)
It's not about winning (entry fee given back to 1-2 people depending on the size of the event)

Those are the one's I can think of off the top of my head. We may add extra prizes if an event is particularly large. We like to try to make sure to spread the prizes around.

Entry fees are $10 if they are at the store and $15 if off-site. $10 from each entry goes into prizes. Prizes are generally given out as store credit.

Ah shoulda expected no special characters. A shame too because while I'm not sure he's that good Chakax alone bumps my army to right at the point limit.

One of my models has issues ranking up so I usually leave its base + flying stand in the middle of its formation, are you guys sticklers about that sort of thing?

We're normally not sticklers about much. Not being a douche is normally the biggest thing we care about. I don't think that there is likely to be much problem with the location of the base. I will defer to Steve on the matter though. I am just an owner and not qualified to have the final say about such things.

I understand that there are some special characters that aren't that broken. It's just been a safe policy to keep things sane.
