Iowa had a very strong representation at Grand Prix: Lincoln. It was a very exciting time, and I also had a blast judging the tournament and working with great teams. I want to give special call out to those that made Day 2 of the tournament:
Billy Hahn, Tyler Hanft, Louis Kaplan (20th place), Scott Lewis (13th Place), Josh McClain (21st Place), Shane McDermott, Mikaela Mielka, Robert Pounds.
I was there at the feature match table in round 15 where Scott Lewis lost and missed the T8. Better luck next time!
Grand Prixs are a great experience, and we strongly encourage players to make the trek to a Grand Prix tournament. GPs let you test your skill across potentially 15 rounds of magic against pros and other experienced players. Several locals got to upset the chances of some of the pros, resulting in a T8 filled with mostly regional names rather than national competitors.
The redesign and reimplementation of the website is underway. Right now most of the structural pieces are in place, we mostly need to restore content to the website. Additionally, we are going to be hiring on some article writers to provide regular content for you. Corey Williams has stepped up as Content Manager and will be helping me in this task. If you're interested, contact him about your ideas and a writing sample.
We have some ideas of what we would like to see, but also want to see what you come up with.
